Taxpayers agree. It takes more than union membership to identify the best workers for jobs.
This year, members of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, led by State Representatives John Bear and Stan Saylor, have introduced House Bill 2010 – The Endangered Jobs Protection Act. The measure would allow all contractors, union and non-union, to compete based on cost, quality and on-time delivery – not union membership.
The Endangered Jobs Protection Act would:
- Guarantee that taxpayers get the best work at the best price.
- Ensure that no project bidder, large or small, is excluded from bidding on taxpayer-funded construction project because of an affiliation or lack of affiliation with a labor union.
- Require that Pennsylvania Taxpayer-funded jobs are awarded to
Pennsylvania workers.
Time is running out. Please contact your state representative to urge co-sponsorship and support for House Bill 2010 – The Endangered Jobs Protection Act.
